Let me paint you a picture....
I met a very nice lady about 2 years ago who has been collecting cookie jars for the past 50 years. She told me she bought her first cookie jar for only .50 cents brand new in downtown Dayton, Ohio fifty years ago. She is 70+ and is sadly ready to part with them due to the fact that she can no longer care for them the way she has in the past. Twice a year for the past 50 years each cookie jar has been cleaned and dusted. They have been well taken care of, sitting only on a shelf for display. When I asked her "Do any of them have chips or cracks?" She replied "If they do, then they came to me that way, I have taken good care of these jars." And in fact, I have looked them over and with the exception of a few minor chips or crazing on some, she is right. This is a very nice collection of jars.
She has 100+ cookie jars, and just from looking them over real quick, I'd say about half of them are McCoy. I have brought them all to my home and will be putting about 5-10 or so up for auction each week until they are gone. Please know that I am not a cookie jar expert by any means and will be going solely on information from her books, internet, what she has told me and by looking at them myself. I try to tell all, not to discourage, but to be honest so that there are no "suprises" when you receive your package. I have taken many pictures of each jar which will most likely be the best description of all. If you have questions, please ask them prior to bidding. If you feel I have made an error, please let me know so I may correct the information. Again, I do not know anything other than what I read on these cookie jars. I don't claim to be an expert and will have no way of knowing if any are fakes. All I can say is I will list them as honest as I see them. This lady has been collecting these the majority of her life and I don't believe she would spend this much time collecting fake cookie jars, however you do not know when there may have been a dishonest person selling her a fake or reproduction, which is why I ask you to please ask all questions prior to bidding. You will simply be amazed at all of the cookie jars. Also I do want to mention that these have not been cleaned yet this year due to her health, so some of them may need a light cleaning as I am not up for cleaning over 100 cookie jars, with my present schedule...I hope you'll understand.
All of the cookie jars will start with a low bid of $9.99 with no reserve. Please note that I will not be able to combine shipping on any of the cookie jars as some of these are old & rare. Even though I pack well, you never know what's in store while shipping. I DO buy bubble wrap by the "tractor tires". Meaning I have a very large amount on hand. Each cookie jar will come separately double boxed with packing paper, then sufficient bubble wrap, then styrofoam for padding. I have large sheets of styrofoam that I break up and use to pad breakables. I do my part to make sure your item will arrive safely. Shipping includes a handling fee $3.00, delivery confirmation, and insurance up to $50.00. IF YOUR ITEM EXCEEDS $50.00, PLEASE WAIT FOR AN INVOICE SO THAT INSURANCE CAN BE ADJUSTED ACCORDINGLY TO ACCOMODATE THE WINNING BID SO THAT YOUR ITEM IS FULLY INSURED WHILE IN TRANSIT.
Be sure to mark me as one of your "Favorite Sellers" as I will have many, many more cookie jars in the upcoming weeks.
UNGEMACH PUPPET COOKIE JAR
Most everyone knows this jar as "Candy Baby" from American Bisque. However after doing some research, I have learned that this jar is an Ungemach jar. It has the "horshoe bottom" which is not common to American Bisque. In the "Collector's Encyclopedia of Cookie Jars" Book 11, it states that....Ungemach Pottery was located in Roseville, Ohio, from 1937 through 1984. There was a close association between the Ungemach family and A.N. allen of American Bisque. Their work is similar, close enough for cookie jar collectors to mistakenly identify Ungemach jars as American Bisque. On page 215 in book 1, is the jar commonly referred to as "Candy Baby". We now know this jar is actually called "Puppet" and was produced by Ungemach rather than American Bisque. And the story goes on to tell of a few other jars that have been mistakenly identified as American Bisque, but are actually Ungemach.
This jar is adorable. It measures 11" to the top of the handle and is nearly 7" wide. Although not perfect, it presents well. It does have a chip at the bottom in the front and a tiny fleck of paint missing beside his face. There are some cracks and chips in the inside rim where the lid sits and some drips in the paint from when it was made. But like I said, it presents well. It is just too cute!
Unmarked
I have looked this jar over twice for crazing. The only crazing I see is on the inside rim of the lid and it is very light.
Thanks for taking an interest in my Cookie Jars!
Please note: I do look over each cookie jar carefully. I note anything that I see. If I miss something, it is an honest mistake. Please ask questions and see the pictures as sometimes they are the best description of the jar.

I combine shipping whenever possible to save you money! I offer a wide variety of items with different sizes and weight. Therefore there is no “set” combined shipping rate. I am very fair with shipping. I combine the items (if possible) and only charge actual shipping + $1 - $3 for handling (depending on size of item(s)). If purchasing more than one item please let me know before making payment and I will send you an invoice with combined shipping. Items must be won within 3 days of each other and paid with one payment. No exceptions.
I pack all of my items with extra care. Check my feedback and bid with confidence!
All of my items come from a smoke free home!
*** All items have a handling fee added in the shipping cost. This is usually $1.00 - $3.00 depending on size. Please do not leave neg. feedback because price on your package is lower when you receive it than what you were charged for shipping. The handling fee is for shipping supplies, transportation, etc., and is allowable per Ebay. This is included with your shipping charge - hence the smaller charge on your package when you receive it. If you do not agree, please do not bid. Most sellers charge a much higher handling fee than I do. I use recycled materials in addition to new materials to keep handling fees reasonable and have never had any problems with customers being dissatisfied.***
I ship within 2 days of receiving cleared payment. (except Sundays and holidays) I also send out an e-mail letting you know your item(s) have shipped :)
I am currently only shipping within the United States.
