This auction is for a copy of the “Charlton Standard Catalogue of Canadian Coins.”
The book is a super reference guide, as it covers every coin issued by the Canadian government, with sections on pre-Confederation coins as well, even coins from the era of New France. There is also material on Newfoundland coins, and other misc sections as well. Each issue is nicely illustrated, and the book gives examples of errors and oddities, different varieties, and so on. Great detail of designers and artists for each coin, numbers minted, variations, and little histories of each type. Also section son specimens, collectors coins, and many other useful sections. All heavily illustrated, many with close-ups and details.
This is the 50th anniversary issue, which was published in 1996. There are lists of different values for the coins, but if you collect, then you klnow that since the advent of Ebay, things like these “list prices” are now totally meaningless, and these prices have been revealed as being pretty much made-up by dealers. (Indeed, I think this was the last ediotion printed!) Nevertheless, the book is still a super reference, and very useful for the collector of historian. Where else can you get a complete reference listing of every single coin produced by the nation!!
The book is a softcover, in excellent condition, and is 270 pages long. The book is used, but is in excellent condition. Top bidder should add $7.90 postage in North America.
