You are bidding on an HTP Invertig 201. This machine has been used twice for an in house demo. I would not call this machine used, but would call it factory tested. You can not tell this machine from new.
You can see from these photos, what excellent welds this machine is capable of. There are currently 7 HTP Invertig 201s in use at Automotosports www.AMSperformance.com The first one went into service back in 2001. You can see the beautiful stainless steel weld on this turbo pipe, and the high quality welds the AMS fabricators laid down on the aluminum intake manifold with the Invertig 201.
The Invertig 201 is also the welder of choice for Top Fuel Team Zizzo Racing who ran a 4.576 sec ET @ 326.16 MPH. And at 300 MPH, you better have high quality welds. The 201 is an excellent choice for anyone welding 4130 tubing in automotive tube frames or airframes.
Remember, compare apples to apples. This is an inverter based AC/DC Tig welder. You can not compare this to transformer based machines like the Miller Syncrowave 200 or the Lincoln Precision Tig 225. Here’s why:
1) Power consumption – from Lincoln’s Spec Sheet, if you are welding at 90 amps and running the machine on 208 volts, the Precision Tig 225 will pull 42 amps out of the wall. If you assume a linear power consumption curve, then when you are welding at 200 amps, you would be pulling 93 amps out of the wall.
Similarly, from Miller’s spec sheet, welding at 150 amps, running on 208 volts, the Syncrowave 200 will pull 54 amps out of the wall. Again, assuming a linear power consumption curve, if you are welding at 200 amps you would be pulling 72 amps out of the wall.
The Invertig 201 is very energy efficient – welding at 200 amps, the Invertig 201 will pull only 30 amps out of the wall. If you will be using this welder in your garage, do you have an electrical service that can handle a 72 amp draw? What would it cost to rewire your garage?
2) Size and Weight – The Invertig 201 weighs 68 lbs. and is about the size of a personal computer. If you wanted to take this welder to the job site or to your friend’s house, you could put it in the back seat of your car by yourself without busting your gut. The Lincoln PT225 weighs 212 lbs, and the Miller SW200 weighs 238 lbs. Both are about the size of a small washing machine. You would need an engine hoist to get either machine in the back of a pickup truck.
3) AC Frequency Adjustment – Since the Miller and Lincoln units are transformer units, the AC frequency is fixed at 60 Hz. This means the wave alternates between positive and negative 60 times a second, the same as the electricity in the wall. The Invertig 201 allows you to ADJUST the AC frequency from 20 to 200 Hz. There are several advantages to welding aluminum at higher AC frequencies – the arc is focused more to a point, the heat is more concentrated, so you get a molten puddle faster, start welding quicker, have a smaller heat affected zone and just put less heat into the piece. Also, you can run a 2% ceriated tungsten, sharpened to a point. You get better arc starts and less arc wandering. It is just makes welding aluminum easier.
So, what should we compare the Invertig 201 to? Other inverter based machines. Miller has the Dynasty 200 DX - $3400 on E-bay from weldingsuppliesatioc . Or the Lincoln V205T – about the same money. Remember these prices include a tig torch, ground clamp, foot pedal, gas hose and flowmeter. Suggested retail price of a comparably equipped Invertig 201 $3095, but we are offering this machine with no reserve, so what you bid is what the Invertig 201 will sell for.
Shipping on this machine usually runs about $100 in the Midwest and more to the east and west coasts. Please e-mail us for an exact shipping quote.
And unlike the other on-line retailers or even the local welding distributor, we offer you an unconditional 90 day money back guarantee. That’s right, buy the Invertig 201, use it in your own shop for 90 days, and if you aren’t satisfied with the outstanding performance of this welder, return it for a refund. And the machine is further backed with a 3 year warranty by a company that has been providing quality welding equipment since 1981, over 27 years. ( HTP America, Inc. www.usaweld.com )

Included with the Invertig 201 is our TIG welding DVD, Welcome to the world of Tig Welding. This is a 70 minute DVD that gives you a through the helmet view of TIG welding. If you want to purchase the DVD before you buy the machine, the price of the DVD is refundable towards the purchase of the 201. Go to our E-bay store to purchase the DVD. : http://stores.ebay.com/welders4less
The machine also comes complete with a 12 ½ ft 17 series Tig torch with a super-flex cable, Foot Pedal with a 12 ½ ft cable, 10 ft ground clamp, flow meter, and gas hose.
You may ask – “what if I have a problem with the welder?” If you compare the 201 to the other machines, you will see it is in a larger cabinet. Why? One of the reasons is for easy service. If you look at the internal shots of the welder, you will see all the circuit boards. There is a lot of room in there, they are easy to get to, and they are easy to replace. If you have a problem with the welder, we can diagnose it over the phone, send the part to you, and you will probably be up and running faster that if you took a red or blue machine to a local distributor, since they would have to order the part anyway.
So, if you are looking for a high quality, feature packed welder, look no further than the Invertig 201. If you have any questions on the invertig 201, or would like an owner's manual, please call us at 1-800-USA-WELD to send me an e-mail. This machine is available to the 1st person who walks in the door, so we reserve the right to end the auction early.
Please note: when contacting us with any questions by e-mail, DO NOT HIDE YOUR E-MAIL ADDRESS. We respond to all e-mails through our e-mail system, not E-bay’s my message system. We process too many e-mails to log in to E-bay and respond though their message system. Thank you in advance for your cooperation.
