SUPPORT THE SURFRIDER FOUNDATION AND OWN A LIMITED EDITION ROBERT LYN NELSON GICLEE.
Here’s an opportunity to own a beautiful piece of art – and help our oceans at the same time. We hope that you will participate in this worthy cause.
Master Communication, of San Pedro California, in conjunction with famed artist and conservationist Robert Lyn Nelson, is donating 100% of the proceeds of a limited edition hand embellished giclée to The Surfrider Foundation.
The title of the piece is “Intimate Hana Day”. It measures 48”wide by 36” in height. It is #10 in a series of 50. This limited edition is valued at over $2000.
The giclée has been personally enhanced, varnished and embellished by Robert Lyn Nelson. This particular piece has also been customized with a sketch of an egret on the back of the canvas. This is truly a unique and special piece. According to the artist “In light of the worthy cause, I did a lot more remarquing on this piece than I normally do on a limited edition giclée.”
100% of the proceeds will be donated to the local chapter of The Surfrider Foundation.
The item is currently on display at Medéa Gallery in San Pedro. The gallery will be hosting a live event at the time of the auction’s conclusion – with bidders using workstations at the gallery to place their bids. So to the rest of you, be ready for some Friday evening activity :-)
A certificate of authenticity will be made available by the artist.
On behalf of The Surfrider Foundation, we thank you for your support and generosity to this wonderful cause.
ABOUT ROBERT LYN NELSON
In 1979, Robert Lyn Nelson created his landmark painting 'Two Worlds' and, with it, the Modern Marine Art Movement. His vision of life above and below the ocean's surface launched a successful and widely adopted genres of contemporary art, and has become the powerful symbol for one of the most compassionate environmental efforts of our time, the struggle to preserve the life of the sea. 'I wanted to paint the precise sensation of being in two universes at once. I could see it when I went diving, and I wanted to share it with the world.'
The prominence of Nelson's marine work should not overshadow his abilities in a remarkable variety of forms. His collected impressionist, neo-cubist, neo-futurist, and other non-representational works could each have generated a successful career.
What unifies Nelson's body of work is his pain-staking perfectionism. Robert often takes months to complete a single painting.
Nelson's collectors include many public figures and leading institutions, and donations of his work and personal appearances have resulted in significant financial contributions to many environmental organizations. A native of southern California, born in 1955, Nelson was a child prodigy who produced drawings of remarkable quality at age three. At thirteen, he was offered scholarships at Chaffey and Mount San Antonio Colleges, both of which he attended while still in high school. At fifteen, the first public exhibition of his work was virtually sold out.
