Use the Feedback Forum

Why is the Feedback Forum one of your most valuable tools?

Every eBay user has a Feedback Profile made up of comments from other traders-an official "reputation."

If you're a buyer, checking a seller's Feedback Profile before you make a bid is one of the smartest and safest moves you can make. This Feedback Profile answers many questions about how a seller does business. Is she highly recommended by other buyers? Does he sell quality merchandise?

If you're a seller, reviewing Feedback Profiles can be helpful, too. Find out if a buyer is known as a great customer who provides fast payment. Or you can also see what bidders are looking for in a good seller.

By exercising good business practices, you will earn positive testimonials within the eBay community. The more positive feedback you receive, the more stellar your reputation becomes!

How does it work?

Every time you are the winning bidder or seller in an eBay auction, you can give feedback to your trading partner. These comments can be positive, negative, or neutral, depending on your experience. All feedback that eBay members receive is captured in their Feedback Profile.

Next to a member's User ID, you will always find a number in parentheses ( ). This number is his or her Feedback Rating. For example: Skippy (125) means that a member's User ID is Skippy and that they have received a balance of 125 feedback comments from other eBay members.

The Feedback Rating system is easy. You receive:

• +1 point for each positive comment
• 0 points for each neutral comment
• -1 point for each negative comment
• A star icon for 10 or more comments. Click the star to see what each star color means.

You can leave multiple comments in someone's Feedback Profile, but they'll only count once. This makes the system fair. No one person can "tip the scales" in either feedback direction, positive or negative.

6 ways you can use the Feedback Forum

1. See Feedback about an eBay User
   Check all feedback that another eBay member has received.

2. Leave Feedback About An Ebay User - see all pending comments at once
   Give feedback to your trading partner about any purchase or sale conducted on eBay. Only comments related to a specific transaction are allowed!

3. Review and Respond to Feedback Comments Left For You
   See what other members say about you and, if you'd like, respond. Remember that any follow-up comments do not count as Feedback Rating points.

4. Review Feedback You Have Left About Others
   Get a quick summary of feedback messages you left for other eBay members.

5. Make Your Feedback Profile Public or Private
   You can prevent other members from accessing all comments on your Feedback Profile by making it private. Remember that your Feedback Profile is one of your greatest assets and many members decide whether to do business with you based on what they read on your Profile. We strongly encourage you to keep your Feedback Profile public, i.e. open to everyone.
